Good Faith Estimate

Good Faith Estimate also known as the No Surprises Act

Here is some information on what a Good Faith Estimate is all about. Thanks to the No Surprises Act (H.R. 133), starting January 1, 2022, we need to provide you with an estimate of your bill for medical services if you’re not using insurance or don’t have it.

This Good Faith Estimate gives you a ballpark figure for what your care will cost based on what we know at the time we give it to you. It covers the expected charges for the services and items you’ll need, but it doesn’t include any surprise costs that might pop up if something unexpected happens during your treatment.

If you end up with a bill that’s at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you’ve got the right to dispute it. Just reach out to us, and we can sort things out. You might ask us to adjust the bill, negotiate the charges, or find out if there’s any financial help available.

You can also kick off a dispute with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) within 120 days of your bill’s date. There’s a $25 fee for this process. If HHS sides with you, you’ll pay the amount from the Good Faith Estimate. If they don’t, you’ll be on the hook for the higher bill.

Remember, this Good Faith Estimate is just for your info and doesn’t mean you’re committing to anything. Keep a copy or a photo of it—you might need it if your final bill is higher.
